The Wyndham New Orleans - French Quarter offers a prime location in the heart of the French Quarter, providing convenient access to attractions and nightlife. While generally positive, reviews highlight inconsistencies in room quality, concerns about fees, and occasional staff issues. Recent positive feedback centers heavily on the exceptional service and welcoming atmosphere.
Excellent location. Rooms have the starts of updating, but they need to keep going. The beds and sheets were excellent. Be prepared for undisclosed fees at check in and if your parking a car, prepare for $50 extra pet night. At least it is valet.
I booked 2 rooms at this location. From the outside it looks nice and the bell hops and valet are very accommodating. Once we got to the room the bath tub did not drain properly, the second bathroom had no working outlets and the security door between the rooms did not shut. At 2am there was flooding in the hall , which came into my room. They began sucking up water with a vacuum outside of my room. When I contacted the front desk they said they had an emergency and to deal with it. No offer to change rooms was made. I asked on check out how they intended to comp the room and they just looked at me as if my complaints where crazy. I mean it's completely normal it have a loud vaccum running outside your room from 2 to 5 am. Needless to say this is not what you would expect from a 4 start wyndam hotel. Stay somewhere else!
This was a a great choice. The rooms are good. We just had a small issue with the AC as it didn't get cold at night. We didn't bother telling the front since we always came back late at night. Perfect location to everything you want to enjoy in New Orleans. Will definitely be coming back in December.
.Hotel is in a good location. Everything is almost in walking distance. The hotel room was clean and neat. The front desk, maid, concierge and valet parking services was all good. Our room was small with two full size beds-not queen. The bathroom was very small. There were no microwave or refrigerator. Besides State and City tax, they overload you with taxes; City and State occupancy tax, destination fee, destination fee city and state tax and tourism assessment. Mandatory valet parking is $50 per night. \
The Wyndham was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, every single interaction exceeded expectations. The doormen, check-in staff, concierge, security, housekeeping, facilities staff, every person we encountered represented hospitality at its absolute best. This was our first trip to New Orleans, and while the food and atmosphere of the city will absolutely bring us back, we already know where we will stay again. The Wyndham has earned our loyalty and our recommendation to anyone visiting the city. What stood out most was the staff. They consistently showed kindness, professionalism, knowledge, and an incredible sense of humor that made the entire experience feel warm and personal instead of transactional. You can tell the people here genuinely enjoy what they do and take pride in making guests feel welcomed. And OMG… the special water station! Such a simple touch, but honestly one of those memorable little details that made the stay feel elevated and thoughtful. Thank you to the entire team for making our New Orleans experience so unforgettable. We cannot wait to come back.
Nothing to fancy about this place. I wanted to love it, but I just couldn't. The staff was amazing. Security guards, concierge, house keeping staff, everyone I've interacted with were friendly and kind. The rooms were just average rooms, nothing to write home about. My AC unit was really loud and annoying. Also, My room did not have a mini fridge or a microwave which in my opinion is standard. The room was a little dated but clean. The water dispensary on the 10th floor was cool, and the fitness center and pool area were cool as well. All, in all, if you're looking for value and friendly staff, this is the place, but if you're looking for comfort, I would opt to go somewhere else.
The room is good but the reason why you recieved *** is because there as no fridge in our room. I thought all rooms came with a mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable but no fridge. The staff was fantastic Malika and Adrian the one who book tours they was the bomb.com. We will return and I recommend The Wydham. We were 2 min walk to Canal Street and 2 minute walk to Bourbon Street. We was close to all the restaurants and shops in the area.
Great place to stay while visiting the French quarter. Prime location: everything to see and do was in walking distance. The staff was great; they were very friendly and accommodating. Stop by the concierge desk if you want to venture out and tour the city. They will definitely lead you to some great activities! The lobby is a bit small, but it smelled AMAZING! (If they bottled whatever that scent was and sold it, I'd own stock in the company!) The only thing I would really ding them on was the expensive parking rate, the dated decor, and the tiny bathrooms. Otherwise, the experience was good.
Great hotel with a perfectly central French Quarter location. I called prior to arriving and received fantastic service from concierge Malika. She advised me about various transportation options from the airport, tours that her marketing department offers with discounts, great nearby brunch restaurants like Ruby Slipper, etc. Receiving her excellent tips and excellent New Orleans resources was truly a Godsend. Malika truly enhanced my Mardi Gras trip! Frankly the entire staff was very helpful, professional and friendly from the moment I called in the day prior to arriving. Awesome! The rooms were standard and nothing extraordinary but most importantly very clean. Nobody stays inside in NOLA so having a fancy room really didn't matter lol. It was so convenient and on the side of the building I was on seemed soundproof so the noisy Bourbon and Mardi Gras streets didn't impact my sleep. The hotel is also very secure with 1-2 attentive security guards manning the doors and lobby at night.
Had to go for a tournament, but staying in the French Quarter was absolutely awful. At night it was always busy (its NOLA, but still), and whatsoever NEVER kid safe. Service was bad. We were told we could get a late checkout at 4, but had to leave at 11. Parking is valet only, and we wanted to leave ourselves, so they made a huge issue out of that. Pick anywhere else to stay, but for the good parts, the room was ok. No fridge or microwave unlike it was promised, so that explains itself. I hear the Marriot next door is nice though. ?
