The Hyatt House New Orleans/Downtown consistently receives positive feedback for its friendly staff, convenient location near major attractions like the Smoothie King Center and Superdome, and comfortable rooms with kitchenettes. Guests appreciate the excellent breakfast offerings and overall welcoming atmosphere. However, some reviews highlight recurring issues with inconsistent hot water and concerns about parking practices.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. But I wanted to give special recognition to Bryce who works valet. He was the friendliest person I’ve met in a long time. He always had a smile. Always said hello and offered help or recommendations. He was always happy to chat while I would wait for my uber or Instacart food orders. Thank you, Bryce, for making my trip so welcoming.
The hotel is beautiful and the location is perfect we were minutes from Bourbon Street but not too close. We found a few yummy restaurants within a short walking distance. The rooms were ok and the bathrooms need a lil TLC. There was an awesome bar on the 3rd floor that served up an amazing expresso martini and the best lemon drop my sister ever had. The bartender also poured a perfect "Beautiful " with a perfect Cognac to Grand Marnier ratio!
Hyatt House was the perfect home base for our New Orleans trip! We stayed in a suite with a full kitchen, and it made such a difference being able to have breakfast and snacks in our room. The layout felt like a high-end apartment rather than a hotel room. Everything was incredibly clean and the staff was so welcoming. 5 stars for the extra space and the modern, comfortable vibe!
Great hotel, they upgraded us to a room with an amazing view. Super clean breakfast was great. However, word of warning is the parking garage has some very scummy and shady practices to try and make you pay more and if there is an event it took 2 hours to get out. I tried to reach out to the parking company and they refused to do anything or communicate.
My husband and I just stayed for 6 nights during this years Mardi Gras and the experience was beyond my expectations. Toriana the evening young lady that works at the front desk was very helpful and professional. She made our super late check in feel simple and not stressful. The breakfast is next level AMAZING! We will absolutely be booking here again!!
My experience at the Hyatt was outstanding. The staff made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in, and every interaction was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully prepared. The hotel itself is well-kept, peaceful, and very convenient. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return. Highly recommended.
Hyatt House location is great for Cruising its only 1.4 mi away. Rooms are excellent, clean, spacious, comfortable, great views, lots of room amenities. Large rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff. Convenient for public transportation ie...bus, streetcars, taxi. Full continental breakfast with lots of variety. Even vegan and gluten. Only odd thing about this hotel is when you arrive you have to press a buzzer to be let in then go to the 11th floor for the front desk. There are restaurants located within a few feet of the hotel and it also has a Skywalk going over to the Hyatt Regency. This is where the pool is located. I would highly recommend this hotel. I feel it should have a better star rating than 3 it definately was a 4 star. They do have a small convenience store located next to the check in desk. We stayed before and after our cruise. We were able to check in really early on our return from the port. If you need to they can also hold your luggage before check in. We had to arrange transportation at 3:30am for our return flight. The security guy helped us (two senior women) secure that, and escorted us down. Made me feel very safe there.
Good hotel. Decent location. Rooms are in decent condition. One of the front desk employees was clueless. I’m hope she was new. Breakfast was tasty. They should make it clear how to exit the building.
Great hospitality and Breakfast was amazing! Special Thanks to Peter, A - Manager who was really supportive and understanding when we had a challenge with our reservation booked from third party. I highly recommend this place to people who are traveling with young kids.
Not sure how this hotel is rated 4.4. The WiFi has not worked all day today. The front desk has nothing to say other than “ it’s not really their problem but engineering’s responsibility and that they’re suffering too!”. Simply unbelievable! Other than that, the rooms are extremely dated, torn carpet, cracked lamp, rusted shower handles etc. There is no kitchenette, just a small microwave and a mini fridge. The parking is $47 a day. Never Again!
