Hotel Provincial offers a charming and historic experience in the heart of the French Quarter, boasting a tranquil courtyard and convenient access to New Orleans’ attractions. While some rooms have a dated feel, the staff consistently delivers exceptional service and responsiveness, particularly regarding guest needs and requests.
I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Provincial! The property is beautiful, full of charm, and in a fantastic location. The only issue I encountered was that the sheets in my original room had a few markings on them. However, the staff handled the situation immediately and were incredibly kind and accommodating. They quickly moved me to an even nicer room and made sure I was comfortable. The level of customer service was outstanding, and the staff truly went above and beyond. Because of how well they handled the situation, I left even more impressed. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Hotel Provincial to anyone visiting New Orleans!
The hotel is beautiful with lanterns outside and iron gates when entering the hotel, We were greeted by Mark and Ken on front reception both were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable of the area and were able to give great recommendations. Perfect quiet location in French quarters short walk to French Market, Bourborn St and close to shops and food places. Staff were outstanding!!! The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds very comfy. The hotel have little coves of cuteness to relax with a book or drink from the ice bar. We had an issue with our air con which was swiftly sorted, we would not hesitate in booking again!!
We had the best experience with Hotel Provincial for our wedding weekend. My husband and I, along with most of our wedding party, stayed here for our wedding at the Old Ursuline Convent, and it could not have been more perfect. From the very beginning, Adam Miller, the Sales and Catering Manager, was incredibly communicative and helpful. I had many questions about which suites would work best — we wanted to stay hidden from each other until our first look and also have enough space for bridesmaid and father-of-the-bride “reveals.” Adam thoughtfully guided us through the options and even sent numerous photos so I could plan where to set up getting-ready snacks, hair-and-makeup stations, and other details. That level of responsiveness made such a difference in my planning process. The team was also extremely accommodating with amenity requests ahead of the weekend. They allowed me to arrange housekeeping to arrive at a specific time before the photographers arrived, provided larger trash bags for getting-ready cleanup, and made everything feel seamless and stress-free. As for the property itself, the location is unbeatable for an Old Ursuline Convent wedding (easy walking distance!). The Ice House Bar off the lobby was a huge hit with our guests and became the perfect gathering spot after the rehearsal before shuttling to the rehearsal dinner. It paired beautifully with lounging in the courtyard. The French Toast restaurant was also fantastic — the bridal party and guests loved being able to order takeaway breakfast while getting ready, and the food was delicious. For reference, I stayed in the Superior 2 Queen Suite (which has a gorgeous bathroom), and my husband stayed in the Superior 1 King Suite — both were wonderful. If you’re getting married in the French Quarter and need a hotel that truly understands wedding logistics, Hotel Provincial is an easy five stars. They helped make our weekend smooth, special, and memorable. Photography by Alyssa Fisher (IG: @alyssafisherphoto)
This is going to be long, there were so many issues.I booked one of the large suites to stay the night before my wedding and the night of my wedding with two of my bridesmaids and then my new husband. The first issue was about 2 weeks before my check in date. I called to ask what the room looked like since there is a single photo on the website and my photographer was asking if there was space to do any photos there. The lady I spoke to on the phone was incredibly unhelpful. I asked if the suite had a courtyard or a balcony and she just kept saying she has no idea what I’m asking. We went in circles for about 5 minutes and I said it’s fine, I’ll just figure it out once I check it. The night we checked in, it was about 11pm after my welcome reception and we were all tired and ready to go to sleep. My friend gave her keys to the valet and we started unpacking in the room. She realized she didn’t have her purse with her Epi pen in it and went downstairs to get it out of her car. Except her keys were nowhere to be found because the valet TOOK THEM HOME WITH HIM. The lady at the front desk said she would text him. There was no urgency in her actions and actually told my friend that he does this all the time. A few minutes later the valet comes screeching into the parking lot, hands her the keys and says they were in her car the whole time. They weren’t, she had already checked. Now we are at the morning of my wedding. I get in the shower and immediately see a large clump of blonde hair stuck to the shower wall. Super gross, no one staying in the room has blonde hair, whatever, cleaners miss things. Then I go into the closet to get my wedding dress and notice the little side table it is draped over has a thick layer of dust on it that has gotten onto my gown. After the wedding, it's pretty late and I realize that I no longer have a key to my room because I gave one to my bridesmaids and one to my wedding planner. I go to the front desk, I say “I don’t have my room key, can you please make me a new one” her response, “you smell like alcohol” I said yes, it's my wedding night and I have been drinking, can you please make me a new room key. She refuses and just keeps telling me I smell like alcohol. After going back and forth with her for several minutes, one of my bridesmaids walks by on her way home and gives me her key. I was so frustrated with this hotel. I didn't even stay here on my wedding night, we just went home. The next day I found out the valet went home with my friends keys again that night also. When I went back the next morning to get my stuff and check out. The general manager asked how my stay was, I said not great and explained some of the issues we had. He was very nice and apologetic which I appreciate but his solution was to remove the charge for the valet and offer a small discount on future stays. It's a big bummer because this hotel is super cute and in a great location, but for what I paid for that suite, I could have stayed in most of the other nice hotels in the quarter and have been treated a lot better.
We stayed in the rear building at the back which had a fascinating history (apparently there were ghosts in the elevator!). Lovely huge bed and room, really attentive staff, super helpful and hospitable. It was my wife’s birthday and they helped get flowers in the room to surprise her which was so lovely. Great bartenders down at the ice bar and a fantastic location just the perfect distance from everywhere you would want to see in NOLA! Fully recommend this place for staying in the Big Easy!
Perfect location in the French Quarters. Walk just 2 minutes to the heart if it all! The double room was spacious and has a small refrigerator in the tv console. The room and the property are very clean. The staff is amazing! Everyone is so helpful and accommodating. Shout out to Sebastian, who was wonderful and helpful! My friends and I agree, we will return here from now on when visiting NOLA!
Our stay at The Provincial was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless, and David in particular was a true gentleman and big help. Location is superb, what I would say is 1-2 blocks off the beaten path. I wish every hotel was as great as The Provincial
My friends were staying the night but I wanted to nap before flying out. I didn’t make the reservation but they needed my ID and card on file in order to have me check in before them. Standard protocol, no big deal. I didn’t have a physical credit card so I gave my debit, which I felt weird about since it would be so direct with my checking account. I asked them to confirm there would be no charge. They confirmed and said it was only on hold. This only became a problem when I get a call from my bank a couple hours later asking if I authorized a $6100 charge from this hotel. They said it was processing so it hadn’t gone through, but there was no indication of a reversal, which is why they were checking in. I immediately called the hotel and asked what was going on. The girl who I spoke to said she’d look into it. Once she did, she very nonchalantly explained that whoever checked me in accidentally charged $6100 instead of $61. But he reversed it immediately so it should be fine. I respond how it’s interesting that he felt no need to share that information with me after it happened…to which she replied: yeah well I wasn’t the one who did this so I don’t know. No apologies, nothing. I said, well you should probably let the man who did do it know that it was an inappropriate way to handle the situation. She responds “alrighty”. …..ok. Extremely odd customer service experience. And side note—the reversal only showed up after I called them. So it’s even more odd to then lie to me saying he reversed it immediately. It’s pretty clear that the charge would’ve gone through had I not called them and told them what happened. The hotel itself was nice but I cannot recommend based off of this experience.
This hotel has the BEST location ever. In between the French market and Bourbon St, it provides a short walk to many options of food, shopping and night life without being right in the thick of it. The hotel is well maintained and the staff are superb. (Thank you Jerome and Evan who parked my car was so helpful!) The beds are heavenly, and the water nice and hot. For New Orleans, my room was fairly quiet - even during festival.
A perfectly placed hotel in the French Quarter, within walking distance of important attractions. Nice and quiet with black out shutters/doors that actually work. Superb linens (3 sheets!), comfortable beds, and luxurious pillows. My only caveat was the valet parking; we had to unload our car at the entrance, and then carry our luggage to our room while the valet drove our car and parked right in front of our room. How can that possibly make any sense? Extra fee for parking but the car was safe and sound, so the price was well worth it. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
