The Homewood Suites by Hilton New Orleans offers a convenient location in the heart of the city, with spacious suites ideal for families. While guests appreciate the breakfast, comfortable beds and friendly staff, concerns regarding cleanliness, outdated amenities, and occasional service issues have been raised.
The rooms were very clean. The breakfast was good. The pool room needed alot of attention. No clean DRY towels trash and gloss of hair besides the pool. I was in the pool room from 4pm to about 8pm and not one worker came in there. Also they had mold on the ceiling.
We enjoyed our stay at Homewood Suites. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff was very kind and friendly, including the valet, and shoutout to Jasmin (sp) for remembering our names. If I have a complaint/request, and it's small but not, is when room service places the trash bags in the cans, to please disperse the air in the bag/can so that when a guest puts items in the trash they actually go in the trash instead of staying on top of a bag filled with air. Also, the AC unit is LOUD, like waterfalls/running water loud, but we managed, since we sleep with the TV on anyway. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Be prepared if you select to stay here - there is NO self parking, it's valet or ride share. Valet is $50/day with in and out privileges, added to your bill at the conclusion of your stay, and that plus tips was more valuable to me than spending about the same on ride share but not being able to go where I wanted/needed to go when I wanted to. It's a personal preference. For a first time in NOLA, it was a good trip and I'd stay here again.
Denzel, the porter outside, was fantastic. We had issues with a non-functioning AC unit in one of the rooms in our 2-bed suite. Maintenance was called but it didn’t make any difference. Location was great though and packing a little bit ok. We had a great experience overall aside one or two receptionists who were simply not courteous nor hospitable. Two of them were laughing at with during check-in about something we said. That’s the height of unprofessionalism. I’d recommend they repeat their training in Hospitality 101. Lanette was great though and she made up for the mess the other two created the day prior. Overall, the experience was great. We hope to come back to NOLA maybe try this hotel experience again.
I really wanted to enjoy our stay, but unfortunately it fell short in several ways. First, I want to recognize the valet staff—they were absolutely amazing and consistently provided friendly, efficient service. The housekeeping team was also incredibly sweet and welcoming throughout our stay, and they were one of the highlights of the experience. Unfortunately, the rest of our stay was disappointing. The lobby had a strong odor of dirty carpet that was noticeable every time we walked through. Our room's air conditioning was extremely loud and barely worked, leaving the room hot and humid for most of our stay. When we brought the issue to the front desk, we were told it wasn't a building-wide problem and, because of that, they were unwilling to move us to another room or offer a solution. Spending multiple nights in an uncomfortably warm room made it difficult to relax or sleep. The most disappointing part of our stay happened on the last night. After I needed a replacement room key, Lenette asked for my ID and room number, which I completely understand. However, after looking at my driver's license, she made the comment, "Wow, you've lost a lot of weight." This was an inappropriate and unnecessary personal remark, especially considering she was only looking at my driver's license photo. It made me feel uncomfortable and was not the type of interaction I expect from hotel staff.
The location is great. We walked about 10 minutes to Bourbon street where all of the action was. Service was amazing at this hotel. Everyone was great. I really enjoyed the breakfast. They had a nice variety of food to included some of my favorites like grits and bacon. They even had shredded cheeses we could add to it. The rooms were clean, spacious with comfortable beds. There was one downfall and it was that the lobby was always warm. Dieing breakfast, I was sweating, it was so hot. My son in law went back to the room to eat.
The kids and I had an amazing experience the last 2 nights at this hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious with toiletries and plenty of towels. The location was in walking distance to almost everything. The brekky was hot and delicious. Also, after walking in the heat/humidity, they had a big iced lemon water dispenser. I will be back, but probably solo.
Rooms hotel front desk all perfect! Wonderful experience. Upon departure the valets Denzel Jerome and Sonny were eager to assist with ensuring we had a smooth transition out. Helping with bags, car was received with urgency and care! This hotel was literally about a 10 min walk to bourbon street and other attractions. We really enjoyed our stay! When visiting NO again, we will be staying here!!
What a great stay in New Orleans! This hotel felt fresh and clean. Staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh along with enough seating for the guests. The hotel felt safe as you must use a keycard for entry and also to use the elevators. Our room was very spacious, quiet and clean. I would definitely stay at this property again. The location is great, only a block from the St Charles streetcar and two blocks from the Rampart-Loyola line. The French Quarter is an easy ten minute walk.
Staff was very accommodating with an early check in and late checkout, and can even store luggage. Breakfast was included and decent for hotel quality. Appreciated the all day coffee, tea, cocoa! Rooms were spacious! Not too far from Bourbon street but in a more city area with less foot traffic. Great area if you plan on visiting the Aquarium or WW2 museum
This was absolutely not a good experience. We paid around $600 for one night, which is far too much for what we received. When we entered room 706, we were immediately hit by a very strong and unpleasant smell. It was so intense that it seemed like someone had been cooking meat all day with the windows closed. We tried everything to get rid of it, opening the windows and even spraying my good perfume throughout the room, but nothing helped. The smell was simply too strong and had clearly been there for quite some time. About an hour after arrival, we reported the issue. A cleaning staff member came to the room, but unfortunately, as expected, this did not solve the problem. The odor remained just as strong. The next morning at check-out, we made an official complaint because the situation had been truly unpleasant. The response we received was brief and unprofessional. We were told: “Okay, I will register it. You paid through Booking.com, so everything is fine now.” Since then, we have not heard anything further from the hotel. We both felt uncomfortable in the room, and I was even concerned that the smell would cling to our clothes due to its intensity. For the amount we paid, this experience was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are many better options in the neighborhood. The rooms are clearly in need of maintenance and renovation. Several things felt worn and outdated. Even the toilet seat had broken spots, which is simply unacceptable at this price point. It is hard to understand how this hotel can be part of the Hilton brand. Update: Please take a look at the one-star reviews from previous customers. The outdated and rusted materials were already mentioned seven years ago. Although the responses claim that this is disappointing and not in line with their service standards, nothing has changed since. Unbelievable.
