Maison Dupuy Hotel offers a prime location in the French Quarter of New Orleans, blending historic charm with a uniquely intimate courtyard experience. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistencies in room quality, with concerns ranging from dated furnishings and cleanliness issues to operational problems like malfunctioning amenities and elevator concerns.

As an interfaith wedding rabbi and officiant, I have had the privilege of officiating weddings in many memorable venues over the years. What made Maison Dupuy so special was the feeling of discovering a private sanctuary in the heart of the French Quarter. From the moment guests entered the courtyard, the energy of New Orleans seemed to transform. Surrounded by historic brick walls, elegant balconies, fountains, and lush greenery, the space felt intimate and romantic while still retaining the unmistakable character of the city. It was the perfect balance of celebration and escape. As someone who spends a great deal of time observing how a venue shapes a wedding experience, I appreciated that Maison Dupuy offers something increasingly rare: a sense of place. The venue is unmistakably New Orleans. The architecture, the atmosphere, and the location all contribute to a celebration that could not happen quite the same way anywhere else. What I remember most was the courtyard itself. As daylight gave way to evening and the lights began to glow, the space took on an almost magical quality. Family and friends gathered around the fountain, shared conversations beneath the balconies, and enjoyed the unique charm that has made French Quarter courtyards so beloved for generations. The staff was professional, attentive, and a pleasure to work with throughout the event. Their experience hosting weddings in such a unique setting helped everything unfold smoothly and allowed the couple and their guests to fully enjoy the celebration. I would gladly recommend Maison Dupuy to any couple looking for a wedding venue that combines historic French Quarter charm, genuine New Orleans character, and one of the most romantic courtyards in the city. It is a place where the spirit of New Orleans becomes part of the celebration itself, creating memories that guests will carry long after the wedding has ended.

Meant to leave a review sooner but I stayed here a couple nights last October I believe and the location is perfect. Easy walk to bourbon street and jackson square. Close enough to walk the French quarter but not so close the noise would bother you at night. It was my first time visiting New Orleans and if I ever go back I'd stay here again.

All I can say good about this place is the location. Very close to main evening attractions. The upkeep is terrible. The pool was green and they thought it was funny. The elevators are partially broken and even the staff said be careful the elevator will rip your hand off. The rooms were very stale smelling and there was no air conditioning. NO A/C in New Orleans is a big deal. We had four rooms and all four were the same stale hot experience. The showers had mildly warm water. I can not recommend this place

Tonia was the best!! She made our experience extra special. So accommodating. Housekeeping was the opposite- did not stock room or clean daily. Would recommend this hotel to others. Good location not to close to Bourbon Street but walkable to Riverfront.

We stayed at this hotel for Jazz Fest. I heard that they are planning to do renovations, and I fully support it given our experience with the first room we were in. The whole room was so moist. You could feel it in the air and on the carpets. Our socks were wet from just walking on the floors. The water damage was extremely apparent, especially in the bathroom. There was a big storm one morning, and water began leaking into our room from the window, which also had very bad water damage. You can tell that this has been happening for a while because of the way they removed the under-padding from the carpet in only the area right under the window. What was the most concerning (besides worrying about mold) was that there was no smoke detector in our room. I was surprised the hotel was even allowed to let us stay in that room. Staff did not appear surprised by the complaint, as I heard several other guests also complain about plumbing issues or broken appliances in their rooms. The second room we were put in was in better condition. The restaurant in the hotel has fun live music and dance classes in the evenings, but I would not recommend for breakfast. They are understaffed, and the food is just ok. Also, the elevators are scary. Please redo them. Overall, the staff was very responsive and kind, and the location was great, but the accommodations were really disappointing for how much we had to pay for rooms.

Loved the hotel, our junior suite, our view of the courtyard, and that it was quiet on the 2nd floor, even though it was not far from Bourbon Street. There is a little jazz bar on the ground floor with a 3 piece band that we enjoyed. We were there for 3 nights for my son's wedding during the St Patricks Day parade and festivities. The only issue was that some of our party were unable to park in the garage and had to park 3 blocks away. Just be prepared in case that happens on a busy weekend. Otherwise, it was a great stay, front desk was helpful and our room was spacious and the bed was quite comfortable. We would definitely stay there again!

Very good location and kind, helpful staff. Decent quality for the low price I paid, but there were several issues. Somewhat old/outdated rooms, peeling paint in the bathrooms, occasionally flickering lights in the bedroom, cheap thin bedding, only decaf coffee available in the room, room telephone did not work to call front desk. Worth it if you just need a place to crash in a great location walking distance from many great spots. However, don’t expect it to be a particularly luxurious or comfortable stay.

Well, I stayed here 15 years ago on a business trip and it was nice. Don’t bother to stay here now! We had two rooms as our son had met us here for the weekend. Neither rooms air conditioning worked in humid New Orleans. The rooms are certainly run down and the shower in one room sprayed everywhere, but at you. The elevators are sketchy! The lady working the front desk in the evenings is far from friendly. To top it off, a large group of college kids from Missouri (Mizzou) drove in for the weekend. Lots of partying and dope smelling hallways. Perhaps someone will buy it and renovate, but avoid at all costs for now.

Can't say I was too pleased with my stay here. It was one of the cheaper options in the French Quarter during Mardi Gras, so I can't complain too much, but overall I was disappointed. First of all, I made my reservation through a third party and when I emailed the hotel to confirm that the reservation was recieved, I did not recieve a response. I sent a second email and once again heard nothing back. I finally got a verbal confirmation when I called, but they refused to confirm the dates or provide written confirmation. Not a huge deal, but it was a bit frustrating how they did not communicate. The hotel itself is just okay. It is very old, and I experienced issues with everything from the key cards not working (which happened several times) to the elevator acting strange. The room felt dirty and there were stains everywhere from the curtains to the bed. There was unflushed feces in the toilet when I arrived. Everything just felt like it had a layer of grime on it, including the floor. The bathroom lamp lacked a cover and you could see into the wiring in the ceiling. It didn't feel safe. The staff were somewhat pleasant, but not as friendly as at other hotels I've been to. They seemed stressed due to Mardi Gras so I don't blame them for that. Speaking of Mardi Gras, I was really annoyed by how I could not have guests in my room unless I paid for a $30 wrist band for them. They enforced this Mardi Gras week and I understand their reasoning, but it still frustrated me how I couldn't have friends stop by the room I paid so much for. The attached restaurant had good food but was outrageously expensive ($40+ for a standard breakfast). I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for food. I did appreciate how they provided coffee and water in the lobby for guests. The only other thing I'll note is that when I got home, I noticed a cluster of itchy bug bites on my arm. I'm not saying they're from bed bugs, but I'm not sure what else they could have come from. Use caution with your luggage in the room. I'm really hoping I didn't bring any bugs home with me. The location is fantastic, but they really need to work on this place a bit more. It's not the worst place I've ever stayed, but I'm not sure I'd stay here again.

First off if u go during Mardi Gras u gon have a hard time getting there ! Bc every right way rice is shut off ! Then the rooms are hot..like rlly hot ! Everything in the room is old looking not like 2017 more like 1995, like is carpet is kinda up around the edge of the room and the Ac is one of the ones with the numbers on it already and if you like sleeping in the cold definitely don’t book you will Be irritated all through the night ! Yes u have a balcony but you share it with your neighbor! The tub has rust stains had to take a shower with my crocs and I’m not even boujee fr , the way the bathroom is set it’ll piss you off like u can’t use the restroom and close the door and the tub is behind the door literally it’s just a lot I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless like you really juss need some quick to stay ! Also if you stay during Mardi Gras make sure you okay with walking (which I was totally fine with but just letting u kno) make sure everywhere you wanna visit is walking distance because 9/10 you not gon be able to go nowhere because of road blockages we wanted to be close to the parade so we didn’t have to drive BUT not stuck in all 4 ways of the road but my biggest complaint is the AC it’s so hot u literally have to sleep still to not get hot and you’ll still bust a sweat
