The NOPSI Hotel offers a stylish and well-located base for exploring New Orleans, praised for its spacious rooms and rooftop amenities. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistent service, hidden fees, and some maintenance issues, particularly regarding cleanliness and responsiveness from staff. While some guests rave about exceptional staff interactions, others experienced frustration with service standards and security concerns.
The NOPSI Hotel has potential, and the staff members are very nice, but management is letting them down. There is a mandatory $35/day daily fee for "perks" that you cannot actually redeem. For example, their brochure promises discounts on local tours, but when we asked the front desk, no one had ever heard of it. Apart from a single welcome drink the fee feels like a charge for nothing. (There is a pool access, but to be honest it should already be included in the room rate.) Housekeeping also required constant prompting. We had to specifically ask to get our room cleaned and to receive a bathrobe that was missing upon arrival. Finally, the room amenities are disappointing. The shampoo and body wash are still served in tiny plastic bottles that run out quickly and are not environmentally friendly. For a hotel of this caliber, these products should really be transitioned to large, wall-mounted dispensers. It is a beautiful property, but the hidden fees, service gaps, and lack of sustainability left a bad taste. We came here for our 20th wedding anniversary and tbh I feel a bit down. I am not sure I would come back or recommend the place…
I recently stayed at this location on a business trip. I usually stay at Marriott properties where I am a Titanium Bonvoy member but my colleague wanted to try staying at this facility. It was not a good experience. I was traveling on official government business and realized after checking both my colleague and I forgot to turn in the tax exempt form. We let the front desk attendant know who said to email the form to the front desk. I did so and at the same time made another reservation for the upcoming for another business trip. After checking out on Friday, I realized the tax had not been removed. I called back and was told the information would be forwarded to the manager the next day. I didn't hear back the next day and after speaking with 4 different people , I was told the reservation had been made under a different discount code therefore would not qualify for the tax exemption eventhough the receptionist could see the upcoming reservation was booked at the government rate. I explained it was obviously a mistake but the response I got was not very customer service accommodating. I ended canceling my next reservation, rebooking at the Marriott property and will let my department know not to use this location because not only is it expensive but couldn't care less about government business travelers. I didnt give a zero bevause the room was spacious and clean, otherwise the apathetic attitude towards business travelers especially when return trips were planned and subsequently canceled they couldn't care less. Extremely disappointing.
The hotel is ok - clean and nice lobby . The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Service was not great - the bartender (a girl) in the rooftop was so rude when we ordered a piña colada and used orange juice and told her that was not a piña colada she was very rude. We paid for the drinks (not cheap) but we didn’t even finish it. Then we asked for a late checkout and the desk woman was so rude and didn’t even did the effort to help us and say immediately no. I think is not about the costs but about the service and attention. The pool furniture is old and dirty . Overall it was good stay but I wouldn’t come back to this hotel. The only very nice person was the bartender in the lobby bar .
100/100 – I highly recommend staying at the NOPSI! The hotel was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. I really enjoyed my stay. The only downside was my check-in experience. Unfortunately, the front desk agent who assisted me was not welcoming and didn’t provide any information about the hotel. She simply handed me my room keys without explaining where anything was or making me feel welcomed. She also didn’t introduce herself or wear a name tag, so I wasn’t able to get her name. I think she could benefit from additional customer service training. On the other hand, Kevin and Tim were absolutely amazing! They were friendly, professional, and made me feel genuinely welcome. There was also a tall white gentleman working at the bar who provided outstanding service, and a young Black gentleman at the front desk with glasses and locs who was incredibly kind and helpful. I hate that I didn’t get their names, but all four of them truly stood out and made a positive impact on my stay. Despite the disappointing check-in experience, the exceptional service from the rest of the staff more than made up for it. I will definitely be back VERY soon!
We haves a fantastic experience here at the NOPSI with our kids. The staff were lovely and really looked after us. The room was amazing - very big, beautiful comfortable beds and very nicely finished. Our man Dex on the front desk was great and very helpful. We were also served by Sandra in the restaurant for breakfasts and Sandra was gorgeous! So very nice and very accommodating to our children. Thank you all so much for making our experience so memorable.
The property was clean, beautiful, and well maintained. The bartenders and our lunch server were phenomenal and provided excellent service throughout our stay. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. As many other reviewers have mentioned, the rooms were very spacious, and the bathroom was as well. Our only disappointment was the rooftop bar. We were looking forward to enjoying drinks there, but the music was extremely loud and the overall atmosphere felt out of place for what is otherwise an upscale hotel. It was quite the opposite of upscale. The rooftop space itself is beautiful, and we would have loved to spend time there. Instead, we chose to sit in the courtyard, where several other groups also seemed to be seeking an experience that matched the hotels ambience. With a more refined atmosphere, the rooftop bar could be one of the hotel's best features.
Located just a few blocks from the French Quarter, this hotel offers a great balance, close enough to enjoy everything, but far enough to escape the crowds and noise. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. The rooftop pool was a delightful and a must in the summer months. We also loved the food at the Public Service restaurant, and there were great restaurants in walking distance from the hotel. As someone who works in the travel industry, I can be quite particular about hotels, and I would highly recommend staying here.
Absolutely gorgeous hotel! Big spacious room and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable! Got the best night's sleep in ages! Hotel sent a bottle of champagne to the room as a thank you gift. Staff was wonderful. Nice rooftop bar. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend!
We came down to NOLA to get married during Mardi Gras. And we chose the Nopsi as our home base. This was such a great choice! The staff for starters is the absolute best in the business. Sean and Dex took care of so many things for us. Including champagne sent to the room. Gave us multiple places to go not only for the best downtown experience, but also the best spots to watch the parades with the locals. Kevin and Richard were always helpful coming in and out of the hotel. Greeted with a smile every time! The rooftop bar was amazing as well. Great view and the pool was full to the top! We enjoyed drinks at all three bars on the premises. And none of them disappoint! And at night it's just far enough off canal to be quiet for a good night sleep. You seriously can not go wrong here. It was the single best hotel stay I've ever had. We will be back without question!
Came here for Mardi Gras and I am so happy that this hotel introduced me to a proper New Orleans experience. From the time I walked in to the time that I checked out, I was throughly impressed by how intentionally every thing was curated. The hotel is centrally located allowing all of the must see and experience spots within reach. The rooms are quite spacious and comforting. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I really appreciate Armani who made the best aviation at their gin bar as well as Adam helping me navigate during my time at the hotel. They elevated my experience to a luxurious vacation. I now know exactly where I’ll be staying upon my return to New Orleans.
