The Renaissance New Orleans Arts Warehouse District Hotel consistently receives positive feedback for its prime location in the Arts District, close to major attractions and dining. Guests frequently praise the friendly and helpful staff, particularly at the front desk, and enjoy the hotel’s art gallery and rooftop amenities. However, concerns regarding outdated rooms, billing issues, and inconsistent service have been raised.
Outstanding stay from start to finish. The location is unbeatable—you’re right in the heart of the Arts District, steps away from Julia Street galleries, the WWII Museum, and world-class dining like Peche and Cochon. The staff was incredibly professional and went above and beyond to make our stay special. It offers all the reliability of a luxury hotel but with a local, boutique personality. Highly recommend!
Stayed first weekend of Jazzfest 2026. This is not a luxury hotel, yet an outstanding one to plan your stay. Great Warehouse District location, near Emeril's and Cochon restaurants. Safe walk to Bourbon Street and French Quarter, about 10-15 minutes, depending on your pace. The rooms were clean and spacious, our room was a 2-bed, came with essentials, iron, hair dryer, etc... Housekeeping staff is very courteous and attentive, you do need to ask for sheets to be changed. Front desk staff is professional at all hours. I recommend for your visit to New Orleans.
Fair warning as this hotel is not guest friendly. The old adage of the customer is always right is not part of their vocabulary. After staying at this property a bill was never emailed nor was available on their app for me. It was only after looking at my credit card history that I noticed a $23. unknown charge from this hotel. Upon calling and talking to a manager by the name of Asia, I was told it was a resort fee charge. Both her and I went through the BonVoy app together and in the section where both the price and points are listed there is a button you can press asking to give a total price including ANY taxes and fees. I was booking with points and engaged this button. On my screen it showed my total amount of points needed with no additional cost or fees listed. Not only did it not list additional charges, it also had a check mark as if to say "this is the total points needed with no other charges" next to that box. She went through the booking process the same as me while on the phone and admitted it was not listed under points option, but if you booked using funds it would be there. That did little good for me. I was told, later in the checkout process it states there is a resort fee, if that's the case I missed it, but that fee should have been listed where the box was marked to show additional costs or "fees", not later in the process. For some strange reason as a manager she decided to dig her heels in the mud and refused to see any wrong or responsibility by BonVoy. She wanted to win the battle only to lose the war as I will not be back to this hotel and will book another brand before doing so. As a manager, if a guest can show any fault by the hotel or brand, that customer should be taken care of, but she didn't see it that way. Costing her property and brand a lot more than the $23. she saved them by NOT taking care of me. Below you will see the photo of the mock booking we did together and you will see there are no additional taxes or fees listed with the checkmark, along with another photo showing the button to press to include all taxes and fees in the quote, yet there are no additional fees listed. That alone should have been the end of it and a refund should have been issued. You should never let a guest leave with this type of dissatisfaction. Be leery of staying here as you can see they are definitely not customer friendly if you have a problem. She could have defiantly handled it better and should have.
This hotel is in serious need of updates. The art in the lobby area is great, but the rest of the hotel is incredibly dated, musty, and in need of a remodel. When checking in for a nearby conference I was told that the King room I'd reserved wasn't available and that they only had double beds, but he was upgrading my room for the trouble. I thanked him, got my key and headed up to my room to discover it was far from an upgrade. I believe he'd put me in likely one of the only rooms available as I quickly discovered I was in a handicap room with low hanging bars in the closet and a shower with the shower head at chair height. It was musty, moldy, and facing the interior of the hotel lobby - so very loud. At that point there is little to do but laugh at the "upgrade" and figure out how to hang my suit pants to not wrinkle or be dragging on the floor. Only true upside to this hotel is the close proximity to the convention center and surrounding area.
We were greeted and had a pleasant welcome when we arrived at the hotel. The staff we first met was very helpful. The rooms are very nice too, although I had to fix the toilet when we first arrived, it kept running and running but I opened the tank and fixed the chains on the flapper valve, no big deal. Our window view of the dumpster overflowing wasn't the most pleasant either but hey we were in the back so you have to put those dumpsters somewhere right, it was fine seriously I'm just mentioning it. The place was beautiful and they had an Art gallery banquet going on downstairs they looked like the were having an amazing experience. The night shift girl wasn't the most pleasant young lady to have encountered, I just needed a coffee pack for the room coffee maker, but to get her off that stool and away from that little space heater was a bother to her. You know most companies have a young one like this that just needs some extra guidance in customer service. I would for sure stay here again. Keep up the good work here, you guys have a gem of a place to visit in comfort. Oh yeah, if you're traveling with kids this a great place for that, they must have had a cheer competition going on close to here and seeing all of the proud mothers with those little cutie pies was awesome and they were dressed to impress and the accomodations for them had to be great they were all so darn friendly.
The room was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained, making it easy to relax and feel at home. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, polite, and genuinely helpful. A special mention goes to Jeff at the front desk—his kindness and attentiveness truly stood out and made our stay even better. He went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly and that we felt welcomed. Service like that makes a real difference, and it’s clear the Renaissance is fortunate to have someone like him on their team. Overall, it was a wonderful and pleasant stay.
Cory at the front desk was such a perfect blend of authentic New Orleans' hospitality & Marriott warmth. Plus, the hotel was very clean and welcoming; major bonus with having Legacy's Craft Tavern restaurant in the hotel! So grateful that we chose Renaissance New Orleans Arts Warehouse District for our anniversary staycation!
The area is beautiful and very walkable. Really enjoyed the scenery and the front desk staff. The problem begin with the checkout. Stayed here with my sisters 11/14-11/17 but did not receive my incidental deposit back until 11/28. Called the hotel and spoke with Tyler who was anything but helpful and basically asked me to call back on his day off the next day. Spoke to Asia who was far more competent and helpful. Had to find out from my bank that the hotel’s accounting department never released my funds which resulted in the unnecessarily long delay. Even called Marriott corporate office and nobody followed up.
I had an excellent stay here. Cory at the front desk checked me in and was very warm, welcoming, and helpful. All the other employees I interacted with were also very nice. There’s a nice rooftop pool and a nice gym. Lobby is cool. Location is convenient.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, and lots of interesting art throughout. The rooftop pool/jacuzzi were a great bonus to see views and enjoy the cool night air.
