The Renaissance New Orleans Pere Marquette offers a historic location in the French Quarter, blending old-world charm with modern amenities. Guests consistently praise the friendly staff and convenient access to local attractions, particularly the lively French Quarter. However, some reviewers note that the building's age can manifest in dated rooms and potential noise issues.
Victor front desk check-in was absolutely ? spot on. The coffee shop was good. The room 19th floor great view of the river. The room was nice, beds comfortable, bathroom large. The age of the building is showing, still has original windows, caulking is cracked and been painted quite a few times. I would stay here again.
The Pere Marquette is a stunning property! I loved how they’ve preserved the historic character of this landmark building while incorporating such a vibrant, jazz-inspired modern design. The rooms are beautiful, with high ceilings and artistic touches that make the stay feel truly unique. It’s the perfect blend of Old World New Orleans and contemporary luxury. 5 stars for the style and the soul!
This hotel is in a great location. Our check in was quick and easy. Hostess, Trinette Monnie made us feel like family our entire stay. The lobby bartender, Sarah was fantastic and very friendly. Good drinks too. The bartender in the restaurant, Sam was easy going and pleasant to talk with. Very helpful too. The spinach dip was great. The rooms are ok, but clean. Nothing special. The rooms could use more lighting especially the bathroom. Housekeeping very friendly and accommodating. Loved hanging out in the bar/lobby sipping cocktails while it rained. Truly enjoyed our stay.
Overall this was a good stay, with a few logistical quirks worth knowing ahead of time. The biggest challenge is the parking and check-in situation. The parking garage entrance is on a one-way street just before the hotel. If you arrive early and aren’t sure whether you’ll be able to check in yet, you can’t access the garage until you’ve completed check-in. If they do have a room ready for you, you’ll end up looping the block through some pretty heavy traffic just to circle back to the garage. For reference, the garage clearance is listed at 78 inches, and our full-size Ford Expedition with roof crossbars was able to clear it without issue. Parking pricing was a little confusing. Depending on whether you look at the website, parking coupon, or posted signage, there seem to be three different prices listed. I’m still not entirely sure which rate actually applied. That said, the valet staff were excellent. Our vehicle was returned in under five minutes, which was impressive. The lobby staff were also fantastic — very friendly, quick to get us checked in early, and even offered a late checkout. The location is excellent, with an easy walk into the French Quarter. One small suggestion for the hotel: considering how often it rains in New Orleans, it would be helpful if they either sold inexpensive umbrellas or offered some to borrow with a deposit against the room. Also worth noting — the meter enforcement on that block is very active. During our one-night stay we saw parking enforcement writing tickets three different times, so definitely don’t risk leaving a vehicle parked illegally on the street. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The only slightly amusing downside was looking out the window at the rooftop pool of the neighboring hotel and feeling a little jealous. Overall, a comfortable stay with great staff and a great location — just be prepared for the parking logistics.
The staff were excellent! The rooms were seriously lacking. The AC barely blew & could not cool the room. The 4 pillows were the equivalent to laying your head on pillow cases & the mattress was the equivalent of a slab of concrete. The bathtub drain was stopped up & it was a shower/foot pool every shower. The towels & wash rags felt like sand paper. Also the vallet charged me for an oversized vehicle even though I drive a small Ford bronco sport. The tackle box restaurant that is connected to the hotel has excellent food & service & the staff are super friendly & knowledgeable! Will not be staying here again. The only upside to this hotel stay is that I'm now engaged to the love of my life!
From the time we checked in until the time we checked out, our stay here was basically perfect. We stayed in an Executive King room which was very comfortable. The hotel is surrounded by great places to eat. It's a block from Canal Street and about two blocks from Bourbon street. Everything is within walking distance so we never drove once we were settled in. The staff was always courteous and helpful. We didn't need much assistance, but all of our interactions were great. We really enjoyed this trip and we're definitely planning on coming back.
It was clean and rooms were a nice size. Staff was friendly and I loved the grab and go for the water and snack at no additional charge. Very close to everything. I would stay again.
Stayed at the Renaissance New Orleans Pere Marquette French Quarter Area Hotel during a vacation with friends. Overall, the stay was quiet and comfortable, with excellent customer service, but the room design and bathroom layout had some noticeable issues that affected the experience. The hotel itself is calm and well-maintained, especially considering its central location. Staff interactions were consistently positive, professional, and helpful throughout the stay.
The hotel was well-located and the rates were cheap. Noise from outside the room was a serious issue. We could hear everything from the hallway. Room service was non-exsistent unless we asked the front desk for it. The pillows were uncomfortable. The room was just really outdated and the shower needed an upgrade.
Great stay at the Renaissance Hotel! The rooms were excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-designed. During Thanksgiving and the day after, the hotel even hosted a complimentary cocktail hour from 5–6 PM, which was a really nice touch. For anyone driving, I recommend parking at the Clarke Garage (930 Gravier St, Garage G-114). If you book through the SpotHero app, parking comes to about $25 per day with unlimited in-and-out privileges. It’s only a 3-minute walk from the hotel and there were plenty of available spots.
