We had the BEST experience staying here. We are already planning a return trip for our wedding anniversary in the fall. This place is magical. The history, the location, the architecture, the southern charm, huge kudos to the gardener- what beautiful flowers and plants- comfortable beds, the privacy and security, all outstanding. We absolutely loved our stay!

We enjoyed our stay and are especially grateful to Andrea for accommodating us on arrival and departure. The property is very close to the action on Frenchman Street but also very quiet (and the beds are comfy!). We would definitely return!

My husband and I chose this (Sophie’s Cottage) for the private courtyard and we loved it !!! All the plants were lush and the water feature on the wall added soo much to all of our relaxing sits with coffee, wine, water and our music!! And, right around the corner of outlet unit was a walk through the beautiful main courtyards! The staff obviously takes meticulous care of plantings and walkways (brick). We are interested in bringing another couple next year, so asked to tour other units. We saw three !! Downstairs and right across the main courtyard was the Wieland which was roomier than Sophie and a very nice option for our guests. In the main house (just above Wieland and with a seperate entrance) were the other two units we viewed. Beth’s Escape is a very roomy, nice two bedroom unit with a balcony that overlooks the courtyards - a very nice place for two couples or a family to spend more than just a weekend ! Ruthie’s balcony suite in a one bedroom suite with a balcony overlooking Esplanade- a beautiful view and some people watching! Bathrooms in all units besides Sophie’s cottage were very comfortable (Sophies was small, but we opted for the private courtyard!) Both of these upstairs units have easy access to main courtyards below. Would definitely stay again - and with our invited guests! Walking distance to French Quarter was easy and though noise sensitive at night, it wasn’t a problem for me (AC running may have helped and there is also a sound machine). We easily did our usual French Quarter runs, but we prefer Frenchman Street atmosphere and found good Jazz and food there !

Six of us had a fabulous time in NOLA during Mardi Gras! The location is more than perfect. We got to enjoy the local parade right in front of our Lanaux Mansion. We met the housekeepr and asked for extra law chairs. Without a doubt, they were delivered on time for the parade! Everything is within easy walking distance to all the main points of interest. Everything in the house was wonderful!

We loved our stay at the Lanaux Mansion! It was so clean and well stocked. It was also literally right around the corner from Frenchman street, but we didn't hear any of the noise during our stay, which was a M-F. We would stay here again!

A quick getaway before Christmas 2025. Location was just a few blocks from the French Quarter, easy walking distance. Beautiful ambience, helpful and accommodating host. I had the room with a balcony which was wonderful for evening wine and morning coffee. There is also with this room, a small kitchen for your convenience. You do have to climb stairs so this is not for the mobility impaired. The host gives detailed and exact directions/ instructions for those who have never been to the area, like me. It's a great getaway.

My wife and I stayed in Ruthie's Balcony for our 21st Anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better spot. Easy walking distance to the French Quarter, beautiful views of Esplanade off the large private balcony, and a spacious, well-furnished room made this the perfect getaway spot. Contactless check-in/check-out was super easy and the staff was proactive and easy to reach before, during, and after our stay - not that we needed much because everything was already well set. Thanks for a great stay. We'll definitely be back.

The Lanaux Mansion is an excellent choice for lodging in New Orleans. We stayed in Beth's Escape with Courtyard and Balcony. The suite had a roomy living area with fold out couch and plenty of seating. There was a separate bedroom with queen bed in between the living area and kitchen. The comfortable bathroom was attached to bedroom, plenty of towels. Good pressure in the shower. Kitchen had an eating nook and access to balcony. Everything was clean, cute and stocked. Gated entry with lock from street along with another locked entry into building prior to locked entry to suite. We felt safe and we loved the location! Walkable everywhere you want to be but not too noisy at night.

We stayed at Laneaux Mansion using a gift certificate from an event, and sadly, it was a very disappointing experience. We were assigned Beth’s Escape, which was a small room in the back. It was dark, dusty, and musty—not at all the charming stay we had hoped for. As locals, we wanted to see if this would be a place to recommend to future guests, but unfortunately, it fell far short. While communication with the host was fine, there was no one on-site to assist with anything. Everything was handled by remote check-in, which made the place feel impersonal and disconnected. The mansion itself has been chopped into apartments, losing the historic charm and beauty we remembered from visiting during the estate sale years ago. What we found instead was Lowe’s-style furniture, Costco yogurt, sour milk, a quarter-filled water bottle, and cheap orange juice—all in a room that rents for around $400 a night. It didn’t feel locally run or cared for in a way that reflects true New Orleans hospitality. Sadly, we would not stay again and cannot recommend it to others.

Stayed at the Wieland Suite. Private entrance through the back garden area (Super cute and wish we took advantage of that more). The room and space was grand and beautiful, the bed was super comfy.The location was beyond perfect.We were able to walk mostly everywhere we wanted in the French Quarter. The French market was only 2/3 blocks away and then we easily walked Bourbon street. Overall such a great hotel and we will be back!
