Hotel Henrietta consistently receives positive feedback, lauded for its stunning design, comfortable rooms, and excellent location in the Garden District. While generally praised, recent reviews highlight issues with inconsistent service, a lack of amenities, and some operational concerns, particularly regarding billing and responsiveness from management.
This is such a beautiful hotel but the service is terrible. Don’t let the Michelin key this hotel has steer you to stay here because the service is just non existent. I stayed at this hotel 6 weeks ago and received a random charge on my credit card today with no explanation. This seems to be the norm because when I called the hotel asking for an explanation the person on the phone seemed like this happens all the time. To make matters worse the majority of my charge was for a pet fee. I told the front desk when I checked in that I have a service animal. When I called today the front desk claimed they don’t know what a service animal is so they needed me to explain. Following my explanation they then said they know what a service animal is and they still charge the pet fee. I reported this business to the US department of justice as according to the ADA service animals are not subject to pet fees. This has never been an issue at any other hotel I have stayed at but I suppose this one has special privileges. Nothing feels better then being a veteran with a service related disability and getting taken advantage of. Watch your credit cards this hotel is very sneaky. Lastly, don’t count on having parking here. They have a very small self park lot that is always full. Recommended to Michelin that their key not be kept next year.
1. The hiring process at this place must have a requirement for the staff to be as nonchalant and bland as possible. The customer service is a joke and the front “lobby”/cafe staff talk to you like they don’t get paid enough for whatever they’re doing, and like they don’t want to be there at all. Maybe stay at a corporate hotel, where the staff actually have social skills and know what they’re doing because they’re trained properly. Seems like all the money was put in to decorating the hotel lol! 2. The room has no coffee maker or kettle which is surprising for a hotel room. And again, when we asked the front “desk” if we could have a kettle and cups, they answered very blandly and made it seem like we’re making them go out of their way to do this, haha. Like God forbid you have a job to do lmao! But honestly they all talk to you like what you’re asking them to do is rocket science. You’d think the staff at a boutique hotel would be more bubbly. Being chalant is cool btw! 3.The housekeeping came in the morning and knocked on our door when our DND sign was up. It says DND right there… it can’t be that hard to follow and that’s just common sense at that point.
Hotel Henrietta is exactly what the Garden District needed. The design is absolutely stunning—modern, chic, and full of thoughtful details that make it feel like a high-end boutique stay. Our room was incredibly comfortable and surprisingly quiet for being so close to the action. It feels like a sophisticated retreat right in the heart of the city. A true 5-star experience!
I booked an "all taxes, all fees included" room through Expedia for $564/nt. But just before the check-in, I received a note advising me that I had paid $406 as a deposit and would owe more "taxes" at check-in. These are not taxes. There were 20% taxes included already. It was just additional "fees." The trend of "check-in fees" will always be a poor business practice and read as a shady money-grab. This is a nice hotel, but I certainly will find a more transparent host going forward.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful and in a great spot. The room was stylish and comfortable. Service from the front desk staff didn’t feel up to par with what I expect from a boutique hotel like this. Overall the best service we received was from a bartender in the afternoon. Our shower was cold twice and when we let the front desk know at checkout they simply said “well check it out” without an apology or any concern. Also, the blinds in our room were broken and couldn’t be opened to let natural light in. I’d stay here again due to the beautiful space and location, and hope that these kinks with staff and water temp were worked out.
Do not book here unless you like having your belongings stolen!!! We booked two rooms the weekend of February 6. Our stay was wonderful until I discovered that I had left a pair of shoes in the room. The day after we checked out, I called the hotel first thing and an employee named Larry let me know that he had the shoes in his possession, they were safely put away, and he would have a manager call or email me to arrange shipping them back to me. I gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt because it was Mardi Gras and I knew they must be very busy, but after I did not hear from anyone for several days, I attempted to get in touch with a manager at the hotel. I was told by an employee named Kai that the manager’s name is Brock and that I should hear from him the next day. That was last Friday, February 20 and I still have not heard from him, or anyone from the hotel as of today. I have also emailed the information email listed on the website and have not heard anything back. This is outright theft. I’m considering filing a police report. But ultimately I would just like my shoes returned to me and/or to be reimbursed. I absolutely hate having to write this review. I have tried everything I can think of to reach managerial staff at the hotel but I’m just getting nowhere. Unfortunately, hotel Henrietta just doesn’t seem to care much about their guests or their belongings. I highly recommend you spend your money somewhere else!
The room is new and nicely decorated, but the details made this stay a lukewarm experience. - Shower water temp wouldn’t stay hot a couple times - Dirty cotton swabs in the jar - Hotel bar served a very watery matcha latte and the cocktail came with a sad floppy mint - Requested slippers since it was missing from the room but staff seemed confused /couldn’t explain why it wasn’t possible to supply them Nothing catastrophic, just slightly unexpected for a Michelin Key property.
This is a really nice new hotel in a great location. The service is really nice too. 1. It's on St. Charles, close to trolley , a grocery store close by, decent dining options in walking distance. 2. Hotel is new, and very nice inside. Nice lobby and outside seating. They also have coffee shop which makes very good lattes that are priced well. 3. Service was always nice from housekeeping to front desk. .
worst experience ever in US. Room has no telephone to connect to front desk. No refill of free water, no toothbrush provided. Zero communication in front desk— I told them to not clean my room but they still did. Always no people shown up at night when I come to the front desk. No responsibility to their customer when they told me there will be mange team contacting me about the issue.
Beds are amazing. Housekeeping is wonderful. But that’s where it ends. We got back to our hotel at 8pm and couldn’t order a Dr ink - bar closed. Two nights in a row the tv didn’t work. Despite housekeeping trying and failing, it never worked. Front desk person couldn’t care less and said we could maybe speak to a manager the next day at 3pm. Unacceptable. For a Michelin key property this was a HUGE disappointment. Location is on the outskirts for sure. Plan to be on the streetcar for many stops.
