The Chloe presents a visually appealing and historic New Orleans experience, boasting a charming atmosphere and friendly staff. However, recent reviews highlight significant operational issues including inconsistent service, outdated facilities, and food quality concerns, raising concerns about value for the high nightly rates.

Our recent stay at The Chloe was profoundly disappointing, especially considering the room rate exceeded $900 per night. While the property attempts to market itself as an upscale boutique hotel experience, the reality fell far short of expectations in comfort, convenience, and basic hospitality standards. The first issue guests encounter is parking. There is no dedicated parking facility and no valet parking service to actually park your vehicle. Guests are left to search for street parking on their own, which is both inconvenient and unacceptable at this price point. Additionally, there was no valet assistance with luggage upon arrival or departure. The hotel itself is a converted three-story residence with only a single elevator serving the entire property. The elevator creaked, groaned, and rattled to the point that it sounded as though it was nearing the end of its service life. The stairways are dark, steep, and intimidating, appearing to exceed comfortable ADA-style tread and rise proportions, making them difficult and potentially unsafe to navigate. Perhaps the most striking issue throughout the property is the lighting. Hallways and common areas are so dimly illuminated that they appear to fall below reasonable hospitality safety standards. I literally had to use a flashlight just to see the keyhole in order to unlock my room door. Noise was another major problem. The bar atmosphere may appeal to some patrons downstairs, but the sound travels throughout the building. Even though our second-floor room was away from the main stairwell, the noise remained intrusive. To make matters worse, directly across from our room was the housekeeping service closet, resulting in constant clanging, banging, and staff activity during the early and mid-morning hours when guests are attempting to rest. The overall atmosphere of the building was also unpleasant, with a lingering odor of stale beer throughout portions of the property. Dining was equally disappointing. We ordered the hotel’s signature burger and fries through room service. The fries arrived limp and soggy, and the burger itself tasted so severely burnt that after one bite I spit it out. It had the unmistakable flavor of charred carbon rather than properly cooked beef. For a property charging luxury-level rates, I expected thoughtful service, comfort, and attention to detail. Instead, the experience felt inconvenient, poorly maintained, noisy, and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, based on this stay, I could not recommend The Chloe to anyone seeking a true luxury hotel experience in New Orleans.

I spent my 40th Birthday at The Chloè and I can say without any doubts that the staff and charm of the hotel made it my all-time favorite birthday! ? The Hotel has historic charm, character, warmth, the most GORGEOUS DECOR and aesthetic….the entire experience was one WOW after another! The staff is truly the biggest reason why our stay (I was here with my 3 besties) was so memorable! Maria, Michael, Stefan, Vinny were all superstars that made us feel deeply special and truly cared for! They went the extra mile every single time! The entire staff was fantastic and gave 5 star service every single time. The restaurant was exquisite…the decor, the service, THE FOOD! Wow! We loved it so much that we decided to go back 2 nights later! I simply cannot stay anywhere else when I got to NOLA. The Chloe has ruined me for life. ?? What a gem of a place. Thank You for giving us a life-changing experience and a memorable stay!

Had a really great experience at The Chloe. My parents and I stayed here and the hotel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are really comfortable and the whole place has such a cool, relaxed vibe. Everything felt very thoughtfully done and it made the stay feel special. The red haired girl at the front desk is so funny and helpful. Would definitely come back!

LOVED the location and atmosphere! There are several types of seating for whatever you’re in the mood for, indoor, outdoor, quiet, more excitement. The FOOD was delicious! Everything our group had was amazing. We also ordered several desserts. The ice cream sandwich was great. It has a crispy crust with a slightly salty taste with the sweet. The dark chocolate cake - DELISH and big enough for 4 people, but that coconut cheesecake - THE BEST!! The coconut is only on top for those non coconut lovers, the cheesecake has a whipped sort of texture but the whole things was amazing!! Meals we tried were shrimp salad ?? chicken katsu sandwich ? butternut squash ? stuffed fish ?. Loved this place! The butternut squash is in pics below.

I’ve been to the Chloe RESTAURANT 3 times now, and each time was consistently amazing. I expect New Orleans to have the best gumbo, and this is the only place with alligator sausage in the gumbo that tastes so rich and amazing! I’ve been for dinner and brunch and I can’t stress enough the attention to presentation and most of all the flavor of each dish! I’ve had every food group— salad, vegetables, red meat, seafood, cheese / bread, all amazing. The ambience and decor are equally enjoyable. Now I want to stay at the hotel, so I can eat there some more! I highly recommend.

We used to stay at The Chloe when the previous owners ran it. At first when we showed up it was shocking the change, honestly it’s a great change. We love the modern twist they have put on this bed and breakfast while maintaining the old feel in the rooms when you stay as a guest. If you’re in the area this is a highly recommended location. The customer service is top notch and they ALL make you feel welcome. We had the complimentary breakfast every morning and it is fantastic. Thankyou to all of the staff at The Chloe for making us feel welcome. We love what y’all have done to the place. We were worried about the change when we heard it sold but that’s no longer the case. We will be back!!

We just had our 50th Anniversary party there. It was great! Kelly, the event planner, made everything easy (and I am an anxious person). The bartender, Christian, was so nice. Basically, from start to finish, it was flawless. Heartily recommend having an event here!

The Chloe is fantastic. We loved staying here for our post Christmas vacation! The service, the rooms and the food were all outstanding. Stefan, Desiree, Maddie and Dai all made our stay even more enjoyable! Highly recommend the ice cream sandwich, the bikes and hanging out by the pool even in late December!

Loved our stay at The Chloe, and will definitely return. Thoughtful and funky - everything was great: from the alligator rug on the staircase, to the best water pressure and most comfortable bed. The bar is phenomenal - fantastic cocktails! There was a wedding party the weekend we stayed, so getting a last minute dinner reservation was impossible. The front desk staff was great. I wish I could remember the name of the gal that checked us in - she was AMAZING. Her subsequent replacements over the weekend were good too, but she had really set the bar high. If you are looking for a nice hotel/inn that has New Orleans flare, and top notch amenities - The Chloe is the place!

This is a very groovy and very hip hotel, restaurant and bar which my experience was just sitting next to the pool enjoying some cocktails with friends at a table during happy hour. The hotel looks like what it is a converted home made into a hotel which they have done as nice a job as you can with a project like that. The back patio and pool area is nice enough although the pool is far smaller and MUCH more narrow than I expected. To summarize the experience I can just say "expensive" and to me at least I didn't find the cocktails any more amazing or special than a cocktail at any of the many dive bars we have around the city. I do hear they have a nice burger here and it is around $20 which also includes fries. The burger is two thin patties which is a bit of a turn off for me as I prefer a traditional NOLA style burger with a single large thick meat patty instead of this new hipster smash burger craze going on. At some point I will get around to trying out the burger and it does have quite a reputation as being great but so do a LOT of other smash style burgers that I've found not to my old school taste.
