Ashton’s Bed & Breakfast offers a charming and well-regarded experience in New Orleans, praised for its beautiful historic setting, gracious hosts, and delicious breakfasts. Guests consistently highlight the property’s safe and convenient location, making it a delightful base for exploring the city while enjoying a peaceful retreat.
From check-in to check-out, our stay at Ashton's was perfect. Loved this gracious home, our room, Number 8, and everything in it. Lots of amenities plus soft towels, robes and a comfy bed. Patrick and Karma are great hosts and a mine of New Orleans information. Patrick was a wonderful resource regarding restaurants and his recommendations, Mr. B's and Ralph's on the Park, were truly great dining experiences. Oh! And his wonderful breakfasts will definitely set you up for the day! Their private gated parking is a definite plus together with fresh coffee and snacks available 24/7. Thankfully, we were able to park up and so took cabs everywhere.
My wife and I visited New Orleans for our anniversary and we enjoyed staying in this B&B. Patrick and the staff were very helpful and kind. They gave us suggested places to eat and dine and were very helpful. Despite being on a main road, the room was quiet. Occasionally you could hear a loud motorcycle during rush but nothing that kept us from sleeping or enjoying our stay. The good: -Breakfasts were very good. Each was a new menu and I never left hungry -There are snacks and drinks available at all times which turned out to be a nice thing to have -The hosts were very kind and considerate -The room was comfortable and usable. They put in suitcase stands, irons, soaps and all the needed amenities. Climate control was easy and worked well -The beds/pillows were comfortable as well -The location is close enough to the French Quarter to take an Uber if you don't want the noise/busyness. The uber cost around $9-13 each way -The gated parking was easy to get in and out. They give you a remote so you can come and go as you please -There is a nice courtyard in the back under the shade of an oak tree. A great place to relax. One frustration: -The room had wifi but the reception/speed wasn't very good. I don't know if we were in a dead zone but that is something that could improve A couple of small negatives: -Our room (#7) only had a small window so we didn't the natural light that some of the others might have -The tub was a bit hard to get into due to the height. It is a beautiful, jetted claw foot tub that worked well but was tall Overall, if you want to stay outside the French Quarter, this is a nice place to stay and we would stay here again
Everything about this home is AWESOME!!!!! Walking distance to lots of the sites within the city. The Ashton’s understand how to run a top notch B&B.. Breakfast is awesome filling and coffee hot and ready. The home is exquisitely decorated and makes you feel you are in old New Orleans. Safe parking on site, area is safe and walkable. This is my new home in New Orleans.
TLDR: Amazing room, amazing service, amazing food, and amazing experience. Tip: Book directly through their website! It's cheaper for you the guest and it's better for them the business. It was about $10 cheaper directly through the site than through hotels.com or other 3rd party service AND the business doesn't have to pay any commissions. Absolutely wonderful BnB! I love a bed and breakfast and have stayed in many. This one absolutely stands out. Firstly, the house is gorgeous. This beautiful historical house boasts (what feel) like 20ft ceilings, 4-poster beds, gorgeous woodwork, and tons of tiny details like the crown molding and ceiling medallions under the fans. My one issue with our room was the lack of bathroom privacy. I hope you're real close to whoever you're staying with because the thin closet door doesn't close fully and you can see right through it. But beyond that, it was great. The amenities were above and beyond what I expected. Bath salts for the tub, ear plugs, makeup wipes, free tea and coffee, free snacks, and other free beverages. The service was wonderful. Your experience is fully personalized to you. We had a late check-in and there was a lock box waiting for us that literally had my name on it. And once inside you are greeted with a welcome envelope. Breakfast was delicious. I was awoken by the smell of bacon and came out to the phenomenal breakfast that Ashton had cooked. We were served a mouth watering pecan french toast with bacon and fruit along with juice of our choice and more coffee and tea options than I knew what to do with. We got the chance to chat with Ashton and other guests which is one of my favorite parts of staying in a BnB. And lastly, the location is awesome. Tons of free street parking (as well as parking on site) and walking distance from the Quarter. Easily walkable to restaurants, points of interest, and tourist attractions. Honestly just all around a wonderful place to stay.
This vacation was a couples trip with three other couples and I chose this for our group because I had never stayed at a B&B. I was concerned about how it would be since I chose it for everyone. It was absolutely wonderful and exceeded my expectations. First the rooms were lovely, well kept and had everything you could need. The breakfast was always fresh and tasted amazing. I have never had a more perfectly poached egg and the boudain yum! Patrick and Karma were extremely accommodating in so many ways, from holding our luggage to making meal changes. I also really liked that they hung out with our group, it was like we had known them forever. Another perk was that our group could hang out in the common areas when we weren't ready to leave for the day. If you are thinking of booking here, do it. You will love it.
Ashton’s Bed and Breakfast offers a truly memorable New Orleans experience—warm, welcoming, and steeped in local charm. The decor throughout the home is beautiful and thoughtfully curated, reflecting the historic elegance of the city while still feeling cozy and inviting. It genuinely feels like a home away from home, rather than a typical lodging experience. Each morning begins with a daily gourmet breakfast that is not only delicious but thoughtfully prepared, often accompanied by engaging conversations about the history and culture of New Orleans, which adds a special, personal touch to the stay. The property provides a safe, clean, and relaxing environment, making it easy to unwind after a full day of exploring. We stayed in the Mardi Gras room (king bed with private bathroom), which was large, comfortable, quaint, and beautifully maintained—a perfect blend of historic character and modern comfort. Thoughtful amenities truly stand out: snacks, coffee, tea, and water are always available and perfect to take along for walks and tours. While we did not have a car, the availability of safe parking is a welcome feature for guests who do. Overall, Ashton’s offers a superior breakfast experience, gracious hospitality, and a peaceful retreat that captures the spirit of New Orleans. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, character, and genuine Southern warmth.
Couldn't have asked for a better experience! The hosts are very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were comfortable. The breakfast was far beyond anything I was expecting or had before from a bed and breakfast and fantastic every day we were there. All kinds of amenities were included. We were also a short drive from nearly anything we wanted to do. We would definitely stay here again!
Every aspect of this Bed and Breakfast was enjoyable. The room was welcoming and the house was exquisite. The best part had to be the close but not too close proximity to the French quarter along with the delicious breakfast hand made and served by the hosts. A must stay.
This is a fantastic place to stay if you’re looking to spend time in New Orleans! The breakfasts were amazing and the service was personable and friendly. They’re very responsive to any texts or questions and have a lovely house. Will definitely stay here again when next in town!
We spent four wonderful days here at Ashton’s B&B and enjoyed every minute. Patrick and Karma are kind and gracious hosts and we felt so welcomed from the moment we entered. They were quick to offer suggestions for things to do and tips for navigating the city. The breakfast they prepared each morning was absolutely incredible and I miss it already! Our room was clean and cozy, the surrounding area safe and beautiful, and we were even able to walk to nearby Louis Armstrong park with ease (if you don’t mind a little bit of a walk). Thanks, Patrick and Karma, for the great trip. We hope to be back soon! Also…Shoutout to the cutest outdoor courtyard cat I had the privilege of meeting while there—Twiggy!
