The New Orleans Marriott Metairie at Lakeway offers convenient access to area attractions and a spacious setting, particularly valued by event attendees. While some guests appreciate the hotel’s location and helpful valet team, others have experienced issues with dated rooms, inconsistent service, and significant problems with billing and check-in procedures.

We used this hotel as a getting ready location and overnight accommodation for our wedding guests in April. I received a call the week of our wedding from the sales manager, Virginia, that our reserved presidential suite was booked by VIP guests. I know that may sound stressful, but I can honestly say Virginia and her team went above and beyond to make the issue right. They compensated us more than enough. They made me and my family feel extremely welcome, and even walked us around to find places for photos in the hotel after we arrived. The Valet team was awesome as well! We were able to coordinate using the hotel's transportation to bring guests back to the hotel after our reception. If you are staying here for an event, I would HIGHLY recommend using this service if possible, it was a game changer, and extremely affordable compared to other options. We ended up staying in the junior presidential suite, which had enough space for 13 women and 3 hair and makeup artists to comfortably get ready, and we also had 2 adjoining rooms down the hall. While the rooms could use some updates, everything was kept up nicely, and the views were great. I cannot say enough good things about the service we received during our stay. Communication was clear and easy. If you're planning an event, this was a great team to work with.

I really enjoyed staying this hotel. The staff is extra friendly and the hotel is very romantically charming. Our room was very clean and the area is right near the water and very beautiful. The rooms do not have refrigerators however if you simply ask for one they bring it to you really fast. i would definitely stay again. Also they have a really nice fitness center!

Had a 3-night stay with the sports team of 20 people, and while the hotel's status is visible in many ways, overall experience was unsatisfactory. Check-in took 45 minutes and athletes were sent back and forth because some keys did not work. Rooms were okay, spacious, with a big window, and nice furniture. Smelled old, had lots of dust in the air vents, and residue on the shower handle were main turn offs. Two beds were tiny! Twins, definitely not queen size as described. Team had to use tickets for breakfast which had four exact same things EVERY DAY: bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, and coffee. No fruit. No yogurt. No toast. No juice, no milk, or even water. Most importantly, no variety. Furthermore, the waiter was the same every day, and she did not treat us with respect or hospitality like she did the people who were ordering/paying for their breakfast separately. Literally, silent treatment, dissatisfied facial expressions, and constant sighs while picking up our empty plates. I misplaced an item on day three, and when asked the waiter if it was left there, the answer was: an awkward giggle and a single word NO without making an eye contact. No coach bus parking available, unless it's parked three blocks away at a mall parking lot. Car parking is not included and costs $20 per day. Last day, there was rain delays for the game so athletes left the room at 10:30 meeting the housekeeping on the floor, went downstairs realizing that it is not yet time to check out. Have not checked out yet. When coming back up to the room to relax a little longer (10:40am) met housekeeping in the room saying it's being cleaned and they cannot come in anymore. Had to sit in the lobby with all the luggage for an hour. Overall, everything just felt transactional with zero hospitality. Loved the margin of the hotel and the views, but probably will look elsewhere for a team stay next time. Peace.

We have stayed at this location many times and we love it because of the location-away from traffic, clean & more upscale than the nearby options. The rooms do need a little upgrade and I learned they are working on that. Front desk staff could be a little friendlier but the housekeepers were very nice and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend it and just wish the M Club had better food options

Stayed for an overnight work trip. Super friendly and helpful staff was the highlight. Valet team were on their game. The bottom floor is very nicely laid out. The room was okay, really nice view of the New Orleans skyline. The bed...was like laying on a cushioned platform. Did not sleep well at all, made for a long next day. Bookended the stay with one more staff interaction at checkout and valet, different crews, same excellent service.

This is one of the most unprofessional and unacceptable hotel experiences I have ever had. I booked this hotel from February 3 to February 7 through Booking.com and paid over $1,000 in advance for the full stay. Due to unavoidable circumstances, I could not check in on February 3 and arrived the very next day, fully expecting to check in since the reservation was already paid in full. At the front desk, I was told that my booking “did not exist” and that it had been marked as a no-show. When I asked about the remaining three nights that were already paid for, I was simply told to contact Booking.com. There was no effort to help, no explanation, and no attempt to resolve the situation. Booking.com confirmed that the hotel had already received the payment and that the stay should have been honored. Despite this, the hotel still refused to let me check in and kept the money. I was forced to find another hotel at my own expense after traveling from outside the city. The staff was dismissive, unprofessional, and showed no concern whatsoever. No manager stepped in, and no courtesy or accommodation was offered. I strongly advise others not to stay at this hotel. If you arrive even one day late, they will take your money and turn you away without hesitation. I wish I could give zero or negative stars.

Haven't stayed there in a long time but if you don't feel like dealing with the crowded Starbucks at Lakeside Mall, there's a hidden gem right inside the lobby, a Starbucks! The morning barista, Lesther, makes a great latte and the service is quick & friendly. Beats waiting in long line at Lakeside.

We visit my wife's family in New Orleans every year at Christmas, and we have always stayed at the Marriott Lakeway. We specifically request the same rooms on the 15th floor every year, and we requested them prior to our arrival again this year. Upon check-in, we were deeply disappointed to learn that the rooms had been given to other guests, and we were put on the 10th floor instead. Unfortunately, one of the major attractions of the hotel is the beautiful view over Lake Pontchartrain, and the view was completely obscured from the rooms we were given on the 10th floor. The following morning, we inquired whether anyone might be checking out on a higher floor during our week-long stay, and the front desk personnel responded in the negative. Fortunately, Kylie Hebert was at the front desk and stepped in to help us. Thanks to her, we were given the rooms on the 15th floor that we had requested originally many months prior. We are unsure why the front desk staff were unable to help us initially, but we are grateful that Kylie took the initiative to step in and find a solution. Kylie provided outstanding customer service, and she is the reason we enjoyed our stay to the fullest.

Great place to stay. Very clean, and the crawfish pasta in the concierge lounge was amazing. I also thought the valet was very good and speedy. I would like to see a second valet working during busy times, like 8:00 am. He was HUSTLING, but there was a long line of people waiting.

This is my go too when I’m staying in the area! I travel often for work, so it’s nice to stay somewhere comfortable. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Devin at the front desk always remembers me and welcomes me back. The guys in valet also remember me and are friendly as is all the staff! I’ll be back soon.
