This Holiday Inn Express in Marrero receives generally positive reviews, highlighting its convenient location, friendly staff, and clean rooms. However, recent reviews have raised concerns about inconsistent reservation policies and problematic behavior from breakfast staff. Despite these issues, many guests appreciate the value and welcoming atmosphere.
They don’t adhere to the IHG rules; they have their own. Check in by 5 PM, or your reservations will be canceled. They’ll call you and harass you about the time you’re checking into the hotel (?) so they can raise the rate and give the room to the next guest. They were extremely discriminatory, rude, argumentative, combative, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I want to give this location a -0 however the staff are very, very rude. Very unprofessional. I know in a couple of years this will not be an IHG hotel. I’m so happy to say I was able to book a Marriott hotel in Metairie Louisiana. I was able to book at 5 PM and arrive at 10 PM while traveling for work purpose. So thanks twice about staying here at this hotel they booked a lot of locals that live in the area and the locals booked the hotel out for weeks and weeks and months at a time. Asst. General Manager Ms Tyranisha is very rude an unprofessional in person, emails and over the phone ad well
This hotel was a welcome respite from the noise of the French quarter, and only a 15-20 minute drive depending on jazzfest traffic. The breakfast and coffee in the mornings were excellent. Tyranisha at the front desk was kind, gracious and helpful, and our room was clean with everything we needed. We were very happy here.
I tend to be very selective when it comes to staying in motels/hotels and I am happy to say that this Holiday Inn Express in Marrero more than met my expectations. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and the breakfast offered is great. This place is very clean and I had no problems during my stay. I would book here again without hesitation.
This Holiday Inn Express feels like a throwback- the staff is friendly and courteous and the property and rooms are clean and well-kept. In fact, they cleaned my room each night of my three night stay. I can't remember the last time post-COVID that happened. The bed was comfortable and the TV had a wide selection of on-demand movies, which I like to have playing in the background as I work/go to sleep. The pool was open, but I didn't use it and they had a workout room, which I didn't use either, but would've like to. I'd definitely stay here again.
I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Express in Harvey. The hotel itself was clean, and the night staff was polite and professional. Unfortunately, my experience during breakfast was extremely upsetting and overshadowed an otherwise pleasant stay. While in the breakfast area, a kitchen staff member behaved in a confrontational and inappropriate manner toward both my husband and me. She repeatedly attempted to overload my husband’s tray despite his declining assistance, shouted at me to “move along” when I had just arrived at the serving area (with no line behind me), and spoke to me in a rude and dismissive tone. After we sat down, the staff member abruptly changed the television from a Catholic Mass that was already playing to another channel. When I calmly asked why, she responded disrespectfully and continued changing channels despite saying she would put it back. She then raised her voice, accused me of “having a bad day,” and later shouted religious comments at me in front of other guests. At one point, she was waving metal tongs while yelling, which made the situation feel unsafe and deeply uncomfortable. When I attempted to report the incident to the front desk, the staff member followed me. The front desk associate was not helpful and refused to escalate the matter to a manager or meaningfully address my concerns. This behavior was completely unacceptable in a hospitality setting. I am sharing this review so ownership and management are aware of what guests may encounter during breakfast service. I hope this is taken seriously and addressed appropriately.
Very clean room, bathroom and sink. Thank you Savannah for accommodating my request last night. ?? appreciate you. Lots of channels on TV, in-room coffee maker and microwave. Loaded breakfast for its booking price
Wonderful place and AMAZING staff!! After two nights in the French Quarter with rude people, walking into this hotel felt like home. From the moment we walked in, Ty and team were amazing! Suggested good food spots and always greeted with a smile! I would come back to New Orleans just to come back and stay here. Thank you for changing my mind about New Orleans!! We had a wonderful Christmas because of you!! ??
The stuff we're welcoming, friendly, and accommodating the entire stay. Secure location a few minutes from the shopping mall, several gas stations, restaurants, near the expressway, a few minutes from the Quarter.
We had a Three days stay and Leslie made it feel more than a five star review she made us feel so welcomed and felt like home with her sweetness and prifesionalism thank you Leslie!! hope to cross oaths again
